the day after a stormy independence day, one wonders about how our dependence on the many things we probably should avoid can be ended.

alcohol and smoking, sunbathing and primping...  what else?  consuming more calories than is good for us, as part of an irregular diet...   using most of the bandwith of modern technology on mindless entertainment, rather than focusing on solutions to problems in our world...  

hmm 

Then, what really gets one down is frustration - is the word really not out at all??

As a concrete example, the other day, shopping amazon for a 'better' sunscreen (none is perfect, it seems), there were several examples of   hopefully awesome yet inexplicably 'unavailable' ones. !

At the same time it is perfectly possible to buy Grecian Formula on amazon!!  

This should not be the situation by the end of 2014, the year for genomic integrity... 

(just for new-comers to this blog - toxic chemicals, like lead acetate in grecian formula, are ingredients of concern for genomic integrity - for the heavy metal neurotoxin, lead, its contribution to carcinogenesis is most likely via inhibition of DNA repair enzymes, though it has other generalized and dose-dependent toxic effects too.)
